A1 Loft Conversions have been awarded "The Most Loved Attic & Loft Conversion Business" in the
UK with The Best of Richmond.We are immensely proud that not only were we voted the number one loft conversion company in Richmond but when The Best Of looked at their statistics throughout the UK they found the A1 Loft Conversions were voted number one for The Most Loved Attic and Loft Conversion Business in 2011.

We have also been instrumental in winning two Federation of Master Builder (FMB) awards - both for work in energy efficiency building.
Master Builder of the Year 2008
Won by Bob Harris and our sister company; 50˚ North.
"Bob Harris of Earthdome Ltd was tasked with turning a down-at-heel, energy guzzling 1960s townhouse into a future-proofed, low carbon, healthy family home.
Developer & Founder of A1 Loft Conversions; Steve Mills and architect Leigh Bowen wanted to demonstrate that it is possible to turn an average family house into a beacon of sustainability and a model for the eco-upgrading of similar housing stock. But the project had to be completed without sacrificing the style, comfort and the modern fixtures and fittings that the target outer London family purchaser would expect."
The result upgraded the property's environmental performance and means that gas has been cut out altogether, while electricity and water consumption has been reduced by 50%.

Steve Mills, co-founder of A1 Loft Conversions, worked on the pioneering
EarthDome, eco-building project with Bob Harris. EarthDome; a development of four flats, represented London's first domestic building to have hot water and heating from natural ground heat. The project also won the prestigious Green Apple Environment Award.
